Abstract :
A flexible method of reducing white noise in measurement signals by means of real-time digital filtering is presented. Compared to the widely used averaging filter, the new approach significantly reduces the delay of the step response of a filter, measured typically al the 50% level of the full step. The optimum filter coefficients are obtained analytically as a function of a single weighting parameter
