Abstract :
A novel crossed bowtie dipole (CBD) antenna, with a 32% impedance bandwidth, a 7.3% axial-ratio bandwidth, a half-power beamwidth of 90°, and a minimum antenna gain of 6 dBi, has been developed for Inmarsat applications. The crossed bowtie dipole antenna possesses a wider axial-ratio beamwidth compared to reported antennas, and is more suitable for high-latitude communication satellite applications.
