Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. Nuria Llombart received the Electrical Engineering degree and PhD from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. During her master¿s degree studies, she spent one year at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, and worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits, Erlangen, Germany. From 2002 until 2007, she was with the Antenna Group at the TNO Defence, Security and Safety Institute, The Hague, The Netherlands, working as PhD student and, afterwards, as a researcher. From 2007 until 2010, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology, working for the Sub-millimeter Wave Advance Technology group of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, USA. She had a "Ramon y Cajal" fellowship at the Optics Department of the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, from 2010 to 2012. In 2012, she was appointed Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Delft in The Netherlands. Dr. Llombart has coauthored over 20 journal contributions, four patents, and over 70 contributions in international conferences. Dr. Llombart was co-recipient of a NASA excellence award for the development of the world¿s fi rst THz imaging radar instrument for the remote detection of undergar ment contraband and weapons, and of the H. A. Wheeler Award for the Best Applications Paper of 2008 in the IEEE Transac tions on Antennas and Propagation. She serves as a Topical Editor for the IEEE Transactions on THz Science and Technol ogy, a board member of the IRMMW-THz Interna tional Society, and as a member of the Industry Initiatives Com mittee of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society.
