Abstract
A feasibility study of Σ-Δ modulation as a control mechanism for low-frequency DC-AC power inverters with sinusoidal output voltage is presented. The sinusoidal DC-AC inverter, composed of a Σ-Δ 1-bit A/D converter and a half-bridge inverter, was built and tested. Measured Bode plots of the closed-loop response are given and the output voltage waveform observed at 50 Hz is shown
