Abstract :
The EDeN (Engineering Design eNvironment) data management system provides a consistent set of utilities to facilitate the project and data management needs of a complex VLSI project involving multiple computers, engineers, layout designers, and cells. The EDeN facilities include a concurrency control, a checkin/checkout mechanism, an associations control, a cell-to-subcell relations control, an audit trail, a cell catalog, and version control. A generalized query language permits random queries to be made over the complete set of control information.
