Abstract :
A survey of operating problems and failure mechanisms on LV aerial bundled cables is presented. Previously unknown failure modes are identified and new test procedures are given. The influence of moisture ingress, corrosion, wind, flora, fauna, weathering and overloads is identified and discussed.
