Abstract :
In the nuclear industry, it is essential to keep a close watch on the isotopes that the industry´s workforce absorbs. Whole-body monitoring determines directly the identity, location and amount of radionuclides in the human body, but it is not the complete answer to the problem. Whole-body monitoring is just part of a complete programme, which should include indirect methods and external dosimetry, to provide a full radiation history of the workforce
