  • Abstract
This paper presents images of large-volume nanosecond pulse lasting discharge under different air pressures, tube distances, and discharge voltages. The results show that it is difficult to generate large-volume discharge under low electric-field strength or high air pressure. The discharge turns into large-volume discharge only on specific conditions in experiment, not being homogeneous wholly, and changes easily to arc discharge. Analysis indicates that power supply of shorter rise time, shorter pulsewidth, and higher discharge voltage is needed to generate large-volume homogeneous plasma.
