Abstract
A Kerr-effect microscope is described which has been assembled specifically for studies of the dynamic magnetization of the Permalloy elements of magnetic-bubble memory devices at frequencies up to 300 kHz with an illumination spot size of approximately 2 μm. Procedures are described for the setting up and alignment of the microscope and for the calibration of the rotating field.
