Abstract :
An open-ended coaxial line was used as a sensor in measurement of the permittivity of lossy dielectrics at radio and microwave frequencies. A simplified equivalent circuit related the permittivity to the measured input reflected coefficient. A more complete equivalent circuit is proposed and errors in the permittivity measurements resulting from the simplification are analyzed.
