Abstract :
The design and implementation of a very-wideband FM (VWBFM) generator are presented. Utilizing the time-domain FM (TDFM) concept, samples of the sinusoidal FM carrier are computed recursively in synchronism with the zero crossings of a square-wave VWBFM. This nonuniform train of samples is interpolated using a digital-to-analog converter followed by a tracking low-pass filter to generate the desired sinusoidal VWBFM carrier, free from any associated amplitude modulation.
