Abstract
Two averaged techniques are compared for the small-signal modelling of constant-frequency pulse-width modulated peak current-mode controlled buck-based DC-DC converters operating in the continuous-current conduction mode. Both techniques are employed to derive explicit expressions of the major small-signal transfer functions for the modular-converter examples taken. Large-signal transients predicted using the more accurate pulse-by-pulse simulation are also presented to aid the comparison. The two techniques are the new continuous-time technique and the unified technique
