Abstract :
The authors report a compact high repetition rate, all-solid-state Kerr-lens modelocked Cr4+:forsterite laser, pumped by a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser. Femtosecond pulses tunable from 1230 to 1305 nm and a temporal width of 200 fs have been obtained at a repetition rate of 220 MHz. The typical output power for femtosecond operation is 100 mW from 4 W incident pump power and the modelocking threshold is 3 W
