Abstract
Iron phosphate waveguides have been fabricated using a spin coating procedure and baking temperatures of 125 or 200°C. The refractive index of the waveguides, determined by modal analysis, lies between 1.62 and 1.72 depending on the film composition. The films are hard, and exhibit low optical absorbance for wavelengths above 440 nm
