Abstract :
A parallelepipedal resonator with metallic walls and partially filled with double-negative (DNG) metamaterial is considered. It is shown that for a specific geometry of the filling, fields may exist inside the cavity at all frequencies within the band over which the filling material behaves as postulated, independently of the ratios between the cavity dimensions and the wavelength. This means that miniaturized resonators can be built.
