Abstract :
Decisionmaking is an activity that is at the heart of systems analysis. It is, of course, also pervasive in our everyday life. Making Decisions by Hill et al. focuses on the decisionmaking process from multiple points of view. Chapter authors include engineers, an economist, a philosopher, psychologists, a political scientist, and physicians, and examples of decisionmaking cenarios in each of these fields are provided. This book is an outgrowth of a rather unique team-taught course in decisionmaking at Tufts University, Medford, MA. On the whole, we find the book to be original, well-written, and quite successful in emphasizing some of the complexities involved in the decisionmaking process.
