Abstract :
An assortment of SPICE2 application notes for dependent sources is presented. They show how dependent sources can be used to model the transfer function of analog and digital circuitry. With this capability, full circuit simulation, such as phase-lock loops, A/D converters, and many other functions, can be performed. Speedups of 2× for simple inverters and 40× for two-input NAND gates are possible by replacing these circuits with a single dependent source.
