As the title clearly indicates, this book developed out of a set of lectures offered to undergraduate engineering students at the University of Oxford, where the authors are Lecturers. However, the title had conveyed to me a somewhat different flavor: I had expected more materials and less devices. The contents are typical of an introductory class in solid-state electronics or solid-state physics.
