Abstract
Inline light signal BSRS amplification is useful in optical fibre communication systems. Here, a step-by-step backward Raman amplification using the second Stokes wavelength is presented. Compared with the conventional (i.e. first Stokes) SRS amplification, the step-by-step amplification shows improved system performance.
