Abstract :
University of New Mexico This book is the first of a two-part series which will, according to the authors, “provide a comprehensive treatment of all the major results obtained in the field of dynamic programming”. Although it is impossible to judge how successful the series will be based only on the first volume, the approach to presenting the basic dynamic programming ideas, while not entirely successful, is noteworthy and deserving of attention.
