Abstract
In this paper, an application of robust stability analysis tools for uncertain systems is presented. It is shown that these analysis techniques can provide an alternative method to the now well-established H∞ approach, in providing a simpler analytical insight into the problem in hand. A study of part of the control system for the Rolls-Royce Pegasus aeroengine at various operating conditions is presented, and it is shown how these tools can assist in improving the robust stability and performance of the engine
