Abstract
It is shown that the ideal symmetrical twin-T built with zero tolerance components requires an ideal amplifier with infinite gain to sustain oscillations. A systematic procedure is outlined to find out the minimum amplifier gain required to sustain oscillations as well as the frequency at which the circuit will oscillate, knowing the nominal values and tolerances of each component of the passive twin-T.
