Abstract :
A wideband microstrip line delay equaliser and a wideband optical balanced receiver for multi-Gbit/s transmission were proposed. Using these devices, an 8 Gbit/s 202 km optical CPFSK transmission experiment with a 1.3 mu m zero dispersion fibre was conducted at the wavelength of 1.55 mu m. Fibre chromatic dispersion was successfully compensated by the equaliser.
