Abstract :
A low-noise dual-detector lightwave receiver operating in the 0.05-2.2 GHz frequency band has been built with commercially available packaged Si bipolar transistors. Performance competitive with conventional transimpedance designs using GaAs MESFETs is achieved employing a current shunt feedback amplifier design.
