Abstract :
I´d like to devote most of this column to the November 4th meeting of the Circuits and Systems Society Administrative Committee. The most significant actions taken were constitutional changes aimed at strengthening the operation of our Society by providing for added continuity in the areas of publications and conferences. Specifically, a new conference committee was formally organized with a chairperson, who would serve usually for a two- to three-year term, chosen by the president. Members of this committee would include the immediate past conference chairperson (both of the Circuits and Systems Symposium and the International Conference on Circuits and Computers), and the pending conference chairperson for the next two years. This committee would review requests for future conference sites, and, most importantly, act as an advisory body for conference chairpersons. In the past, conference responsibilities resided with the president-elect. However, since the president-elect only served a one-year term, there was little continuity. Ming Liou is currently chairperson of this committee.
