Abstract :
Since the privatisation of the UK electricity supply industry in 1990, there has been significant growth in the market for smaller generating plants and in particular industrial cogeneration schemes. This article reviews these developments and comments on their impact on Regional Electricity Companies´ distribution systems. A case study of a cogeneration scheme is also provided.
