Abstract :
Alan Willson, professor of engineering and former assistant dean for graduate studies at UCLA, is honored today for his exceptional record as an engineering educator, researcher, and academic administrator. He is responsible for establishing UCLA´s present undergraduate electrical engineering curriculum and has developed three graduate programs which contribute significantly to the Ph.D. program. As assistant dean, he maintained and improved UCLA´s high academic standards, established a graduate student orientation program, and made important improvements in the university´s fellowship and recruitment programs. ASEE is pleased to present Dr. Will-son with the George Westinghouse Award.
