The Swiss Technical University, Zurich, Switzerland, conferred on Dr. Eliahu I. Jury, Professor of Electrical Engineering, University of Miami, Florida; and Professor Emeritus, University of California, Berkeley, the honorary degree of Doctor in the Technical Sciences. The degree was awarded in recognition of his distinguished scientific accomplishments as researcher and teacher in the area of system theory — especially the theory of sampled data systems and stability theory — and in recognition of his services to research in these areas at the ETH Zurich.
