Abstract :
This article defines and discusses three small manufacturing company change catalysts. Beginning by explaining the importance of the small manufacturing company sector to the UK´s economy, it briefly alludes to the ´step change versus incremental change´ argument, and its applicability to small manufacturing company operational change. Finally the three small manufacturing company operational change catalysts are discussed in detail with examples from companies. The conclusion is that all three approaches may be used together, but depend on the co-operation of key people in the small manufacturing company and also employee involvement.
