Abstract :
The error rate performance of M-ary coherent phase shift keyed signals and M-ary differential phase shift keyed signals in slow Rayleigh fading channels is analysed. Closed-form expressions for the symbol error rate are presented. The coherent PSK signals are 3 dB stronger than the differential PSK signals at high SNR for given M in a Rayleigh fading environment.
