Abstract :
The fundamental mode of nonlinear optical fibres at ´high´ power has fields e(x, y) which behave approximately like those of the linear or ´low´ power fibre, but with the usual waveguide parameter V replaced by a simple power dependent VN to account for the nonlinearities.
