Abstract
After flowering in the 1970s, the nuclear generation of electricity leveled off in the 1980s and 1990s, but still yields over a fifth of the power used in 32 countries. The author discusses whether nuclear power is destined to decline, or whether conditions in the next century will permit or even encourage a revival
