Witness Testing

There is nothing like the close proximity created by the process of witness testing to increase the awareness of a machine in both customer and factory organizations. A user´s factory witness personnel commit to making critical decisions based on knowledge and experience. Motor manufacturers dedicate considerable effort and resources to ensure that the customer is satisfied with product testing. There are several excellent articles from American Petroleum Institute (API) standards that describe machine test procedures in detail [1]-[3]. In this article, the point of view of the manufacturer and user are brought together in an open dialogue on six popular API tests [4], [5].
