Abstract :
The first tutorial (December 1995) in this four-part series gave an overview of FACTS and explained why FACTS controllers are needed. This second tutorial gives a detailed appreciation of the effects of applying FACTS controllers from a power systems point of view without specific reference to how they work and describes the effect of applying compensation methods to a simple two-ended transmission line model.
