Abstract :
This paper presents a frequency-to-amplitude conversion circuit designed for ultra-low power RF receiver in ISM 902-928 MHz which is intended to integrate implantable devices. The presented circuit, which represents the reception part of a new RF FSK transceiver, is based on injection locking scheme. This building block plays an important role in making the RF transceiver energy-efficient which leads to reduce hardware complexity without using accurate local oscillator and I/Q signal path. The implemented circuit is simulated using Advanced Design System with FSK modulated signal at 915 MHz carrier frequency. The simulation results show -67 dBm sensitivity for 3 Mbps data rate. The power consumption is found to be 250 μW from 1.2 V at 27°C.
