  • Abstract
Traffic engineering for networks supporting mobile and universal personal telecommunications (UPT) services is addressed in the ITU-T E.750 series of recommendations. These recommendations set a framework for progressing related studies and their scope covers land, maritime and aeronautical services, as well as terrestrial and satellite-based networks. The series is part of the organized effort in ITU for defining, engineering, operating and managing services and transport infrastructures apt to meet the increasing demand for mobility support in the personal communications perspective. This article presents the structure of the E.750-series and illustrates key concepts underlying framework-setting recommendations. The article also mentions key areas to be addressed in future work
