Abstract :
A hybrid radio architecture is proposed. A performance model is presented. The associated outage performance is evaluated for a hybrid radio route which consists of a number of digital point-to-point microwave radio channels with a parallel atmospheric optical link protecting all of them against frequency-selective fading and RF interference. The numerical results show an acceptable performance can be achieved.
