Abstract
A new general rendering algorithm for conic sections is presented. Among its new features are: 1) curve tracking with no octant/quadrant change control within the main repeating loop, reducing the inaccuracy of slope evaluation for octant change procedure. Quadrant change is controlled by multiple residue sign test 2) the sign of the curvature controls the direction of motion It is an 8-way stepping incremental algorithm, and the bet-fit criterion is based on midpoint calculations. Like the previous algorithms, only additions and sign tests are used in the main loops.
