Abstract :
The D.V. Efremov Institute is the main designer of largest Russian accelerators, lasers, thermonuclear experimental devices and superconducting magnet such as 700 MJ toroidal field Nb/sub 3/Sn coil of tokamak T-15; 6T-30 MJ solenoid for Physics Research, experimental SMES devices, etc. The Institute is a combined enterprise including the design, analytical and technical departments, a pilot plant, research laboratories and test facilities. The Cryogenic Test Facility of the Efremov Institute is intended for the research and acceptance tests of winding superconductors, coils and their components (electrical insulation, current leads, superconducting switches, etc.).
