  • Abstract
    Analysed is the outage probability of an amplify-and-forward relay network which adopts a relay selection policy to maximise end-to-end signal to interference plus noise (SINR) performance in the presence of inter-cell interference. The analysis considers the effect of adjacent cell interference, both at the relay and at the destination nodes, upon cooperative transmission. New exact analytical expressions for the probability density function, and cumulative density function of the received SINR are obtained and thereby closed form expressions for outage probability in the high signal-to-noise ratio region over Rayleigh frequency flat-fading channels are provided, which are verified by numerical simulation.
