Abstract
An overview of the main contributions that introduced the use of nonresonating modes for the realization of pseudoelliptic narrowband waveguide filters is presented. The following are also highlighted: early work using asymmetric irises; oversized H-plane cavity; transverse magnetic cavity; TM dual-mode cavity; and multiple cavity filters.
