Abstract
A class of interleavers for turbo codes is proposed. The interleavers possess properties that enable weight spectrum thinning for the resultant turbo codes. Simulation results show that turbo codes based on the proposed interleavers outperform those based on conventional interleavers in terms of the bit error rate
