The CSEE and Quebec

The Quebec referendum has now come and gone. Whether much was decided or little remains to be seen. At least we know that many francophone Quebecers wish either to leave Canada or to see it substantially changed. Is this significant for the CSEE? Of course it is. Our society; like its parent, the EIC, is a microcosm of the larger national society in which we live. The society´s goals are technical of course, but it consists of thinking, feeling, human beings. The referendum has brought into focus some of the challenges we face.
