About four million children of school age have communication disabilities, according to Dr. Haig Kafafian, head of the Cybernetics Research Institute at Upsala College in New Jersey. Many would benefit from relatively inexpensive home communication aids. He believes the cost can be brought down with microprocessor-driven interfaces.
