Abstract
This work presents the research being undertaken by the regional faculties of Concordia and La Plata of the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, regarding conductive garments used in Live Working. We have researched the behavior of the different options provided by the market and what possible changes could be done so that they became more comfortable without compromising shielding conditions. We worked both on new and used clothes with different degrees of wearing, and conductivity and shielding measurements were made in the presence of intense electric and magnetic fields. At this stage of the research, it was established an interesting correlation between the composition of each garment and the shielding that it provides, which represents a very important contribution to manufacturers and users. In light of the results obtained and given that the current garments only protect against electric fields, we have began to work with the aim of achieving some shielding as well against Magnetic Fields. In this sense, we are working on paints containing carbon nanotubes (CNT) to verify what degree of shielding against Magnetic Fields could provide these new materials.
