Abstract
This paper studies a reconceptualization of radar, how “cognitive radar”can mimic the visual brain. There are three classes of radar to be considered. Traditional radar operates on a feedforward basis. Foreactive radar uses a feedback link connecting the receiver to the transmitter, and it is fully adaptive. Cognitive radar builds on the first two classes by developing rules of behavior (in effect, learning from experience).
