Abstract :
Presents the results of smelting iron ore pellets with microwave power at a frequency of 2450 MHz. Different types of microwave cavities are used. The characteristics of microwave pellets are compared to those obtained by the conventional methods. A comparison of the energy heat balance between the microwave method and present (1979) industrial processes is presented.
