Abstract
A class text is a very personal choice. The reviewer feels this book is certainly worth considering - particularly if your course emphasizes the analytical modellng of electromechanical, thermal, and fluid-dynamic components, or if you want an introductory text that also includes some more advanced material on multiloop, multivariable, and optimal (even H∞) approaches. One especially positive feature is the inclusion of solutions to selected end-of-chapter problems, which is always a big plus with students and anyone attempting to use a text for self-study. The author still suspects that many instructors will continue to prefer the pedagogical approach of one of the well-known (if less comprehensive) classics.
