Abstract :
This study introduces a dual-stator hybrid excitation synchronous generator (DSHESG) and its control system in wind power generation. Electromagnetic characteristics, including flux-linkage, phase electromagnetic force (EMF), winding inductances and field-control capability, are obtained by 3D finite-element method. A closed-loop control system is established for constant-voltage generation by automatically regulating the field current. The integral-isolation PI control algorithm is used to improve the dynamic performance of the DSHESG system. Both simulated and experimental results of the control system show that the constant-voltage generation can be easily realised when the speed or load of DSHESG varies randomly.
