Abstract :
Presents an improved method for computing transient stability using a fast-decoupled formulation of the transient energy function. The new formulation offers significant savings in computer time as compared to the existing Newton-Raphson formulation. It therefore represents a suitable technique for online transient stability computations in utility control centres.
